were taken at the Reunion65 21st Co. Party at Severn inn. On the left,
from the left, George McNulty, George Gallagher, Rupe MacLean, Chet Nagle,
and Gene Porter. On the right, gals from the left are Peg McNulty and Dot
Nagle. George G's and Gene's wives are deceased and Joan MacLean was in
the hospital (She is now home and adjusting to her new life.). The framed
21st Co. Guidon resting on the back wall is the real thing (From the looks
of it, we probable marched with it.). Anyway, the story behind the guidon
is that I was the last '58 guy in charge of our football tailgate
operation and engineered the transfer of our tailgate operation to the
class or '08. In recognition of my efforts, my '08 relief (Audrey Callanan,
Maj. USMC) had the Gunny Sgt. in charge of the USNA armory rummage through
the retired guidons and retrieve one from the 21st Co. She had it suitably
framed and presented it to me after our last '58 tailgate. The tailgate
still retains its formal designation, '58/'08 Tailgate. |
